Sketches

Frith is a prolific creator of small acrylic sketches. As noted elsewhere he often creates greeting cards and pamphlets by folding A4 paper or card in two and sketching onto the front page. The sketches here have been categorised according to the groupings in which Frith provided them to this website and these reflect common themes or, in the case of the ‘Miscellaneous Drawer’ series’, where in his home Frith keeps them.

Many of the sketches are inspired by, or are studies of, classical and renaissance art, sculpture and architecture, but several, notably in the ‘Figures’ series, are studies of sculptures by W.S. and E.S. Frith (see the Frith Family History section). The galleries can be accessed via the main menu above.
